Salma Elkadi Abugideiri is Director of Training for Peaceful Families Project, national non-profit dedicated to preventing domestic violence in Muslim families. She is also a licensed professional counselor in private practice in northern Virginia. She specializes in marriage counseling and trauma treatment, and also provides treatment for general mental health problems. She works primarily with the Muslim community, seeking to improve Muslims’ access to mental health services. Salma is a contributing author to multiple publications on the issues of domestic violence among Muslims, healthy relationships and Muslim mental health. She also provides training and consultation on these topics, and has presented at numerous national and international professional conferences.
